making the way back into my 'life habits'... 2 posts in one week -SHOCK-! my weekend consisted of a lot of slm time, so i got to play in my studio and it felt great! i didn't have a specific theme here, i just wanted to work in my journal! i decided to play with a photocopy image of the tat on my neck. the journaling is about the meaning, my thoughts and basically where i am in my life right now. here's some pics of the end result
the lazer-printed image is adhered to the page with modge podge and water. i repeatedly went over the top of the image with a wet brush until the image looked like it was a part of the page itself. while it was still wet i used a rag and blotted the image-taking away some of the finish of the pic. creating a distorted and random appearance. then i used copper acrylic to brush over, then wiping away from the pic. i used strips of copper tape randomly on the page, and also a lot of masking tape. in the upper left hand corner i collaged an image of a butterfly
(the wing thing again!) and used masking and copper tape to collage into the page. book text describes what my tat means, and nib and ink journaling pretty much complete the page. looking through this journal, i concluded that i'm more into words-thoughts and journaling than i am images and technique at the present! the piece sign is covered with a transparent;round plastic disc. it adds a good dimension.
