YAHOO, finally! it's been a crazy-long-boring weekend (in bed b4 midnight and up by 7-thanks to champ who is now tall enough to stand at the side of my bed-lay his head on my bed and whine until i get up), but i guess those are good sometimes, and i think i needed this one. 'me' time is definately warrented at some point (YEA, i'm still waiting for that moment).. but for now i was happy to get minimal studio time in. getting this house ready to sell (lived here 14 years) is about ready to take me over the edge! SO much to do, but nothing really major.. except 1 small bathroom floor that is in the process now. no worries (yea. right!) i've been working on cleaning out closets this weekend, and it's more crazy fun than i can stand!
the focus on this page is me, not only getting ready to turn 42 in DAYS.. but looking beyond right now and where i'll be a year from now; goals, change, a huge transition! the metallic bird (the only color in this B&W page) has cut out book text adhered across the wings (hard to see here from the alcohol ink) that says FORTUNE SIDES WITH SHE WHO DARES. for me, the bird symbolizes it all. the wings=taking flight, again. over the top of the bird i used a synergy of colors in alcohol ink. (tim holtz/ranger) the metallic shapes work great for this (colorbok). the '42' was made by spray painting over a piece of cut out number paper (daisy d's). the small heart alpha stickers are actually SIZE stickers that i found on clothing in a store i was at. irronic that S,M,L just happen to be my initials-perfect! i'll take them (the stickers.. only bought 1 shirt) the pic of my eyes is framed with correction tape, and beyond that i used dyes to distort the background more. nib and ink journaling goes in 2 dif directions. my eye pic is a couple years old but hey, works for this! this is a page that i put a lot of my thoughts down onto.the journaling is written in nib and ink and written in 2 diff directions. about my life transitioning and having a good feeling in my gut about it all. almost too scarry good. which freaks me out! but hey, i'm gonna roll with that
all's well, the boys' (i'm including champ in this statemet) are great. i shot a couple of pics of eth and champ yesterday.
eth is so crazy about this dog, and the feeling is mutual. champ has turned out to be a good pick! it's funny to see them take off down the road- eth driving and champ sitting up in the passenger seat like he's human! he's finally starting to fill out and his body mass is starting to fill into his build;lean and lanky legs!! he looked goofy for a while, but he's maturing nicely now. he'll be 1 right before halloween.
i have to brag on bobby... he's showing his 'creative side' now by making braided horse bridles. he made one for his horse and when others saw it, they started requesting him to make them 2,3! so now he's selling them and i have to say i'm very impressed, because they're really cool. wish i had a pic to show you. he brought one to show me last week when he stayed with me one night.. he's done a fine job on them. eth's creative niche is drawing. i wish he'd put that into play with his future.. the only problem is you have to continue school and go to college to be an architect! and i'm thinking that we'll be doing good to get him through this senior year of high school with a diploma waiting in the end! lol.. like i said thank goodness for wrestling keeping him focused as much as he is!!!
