mystic and inspired
check this out... it's what you do when you're stuck on a journal page, and the creative flow isn't a flow... it's spinning, but still present! lol
i picked up the latest somerset; it's my fav, Halloween inspired, and the content is amazing! the Bellaween round robin journal is FUN.i want to make a complete halloween altered book- so this tassel is my starting pt. I've always wanted to do an altered Halloween journal, but the Book of Spells by Janie Mattern really got me stoked! it'll definately be an on-going project, and i need to get it established. i love the mystic. the tassel is a synergy of old chains that i spray painted black, i also added some old-gold beadchain. i used copper wire to attach beads, charms and a small bottle. i think the altered journal will consist of nostalgia in the form of halloween pics of the boys through the years, my bro and i when we were young; i want to journal and show how halloween has always been a fun and innocent holiday for my fam. traditions; eth and his girlfriend pulled out hocus pocus just last week and we watched it while we ate tacos! my boys also love this time of year and our traditions. CANDY CORN AND DRY ROASTED PEANUTS!!!
the cooling off in KC has motivated me to dive into my hallow's eve decorations and last week eth and i pulled it all out! i know- freak, but i love the season. i love the nostalgia in halloween but mostly the fall elements that go with that. the cooler weather, sweatshirts, hunting (just the fam), irish cream/coffee, the leaves turning, OPENING UP MY HOUSE TO FRESH AIR, getting back into the groove of scrapbooking, and journal art. instructionals.
I'm inspired, sometimes I get so busy keeping things together I forget who I am. Your tassel is over the edge. The new somerset I must get. I'm remembering I like myself and I'm fun to be with.
Thanks for the words, Steph

Your tassel inspires me to add to my latest binding, which currently consists of latch hooking ribbons and fibers and such to the little square latch hook backing. Now I've got to look through all my charms!

The altered Halloween journal will be a fantastic place for all those memories. The tassel will be a wonderful accent for it. Love the black spraypainted chains and the elements of copper, gold & silver with the hint of the mystic. Pure alchemy.
