twenty2
my august journal entry is all about bobby-
pretty raw. simple. real. he is who he is! very common factors in both my boys. i love the fact that my boys are not high maintenance (well, for the most part -!), and there's no drama designing around them! the design in this page pretty much sums up bobby in his life right now. living lifes realities (it's not always easy!) ! i love this shot i took of him in his (very) holey jeans; holding his horse's bridle. definately in his element here. i used a piece of book paper, and with a sharpie, lined out all the words i didn't want to use, leaving the descriptive ones that i wanted to keep. the photo on the rt is a tape transfer and cut out book text added along the spiral. masking tape and a tag i got out of a plant that i bought this spring that irronically identifies his birth year -85.
he's getting ready to move out over the weekend- which will be a
new adjustment for me! eth's all about it!! -he just wants the extra room! feel the love -lol-
wow, i'm caught up on my journal- amazing. love this on-going real-life art in process... actually i've been playing a little here/there. working on altered christmas tags for a couple of upcoming local events that i need to get links to and post! -note to self-
cheers to a good rest of your week/labor day weekend! last official weekend of the summer GASP. as for me, i will be working on random projects around the house. the whole summer has been about updating and repairing it seems! keep/or sell... <a townhouse with no maintenance is very appealing about now- i need to think about that a little harder>undecided.

Ok girl... how do you keep doing it? Awesome awesome journal. Oh if only I could come and touch and feel this journal... so much texture... so much good stuff.

firstly i couldn't even think about my children leaving home, let alone having a son that's 22. i still can't believe mine is 17 plus. steph sending big hugs to you. was so excited to come back from a whirlwind of stuff and seeing all those gorgeous entry's-love it all and what you have created. the best thing about your art is that you can sit there and just keep staring and wondering how on earth did you come to the finished piece. you truly have IT!!! gorgeous, gorgeous work steph...

Steph,
How did you make the white part of the holey jeans photo? It's very rad.
I hope you have a great weekend!
Love,
Shari

I love your style. So raw and grunge in a good way. I have three boys and it's hard to find inspiration for their albums. It's mostly all pretty and girly but now I cant wait to start my ten year old's album/journal.

I am loving your art work, it is such a perfect expression for your son, I bet even he thinks its pretty cool. My boy is 7, he is never going to leave me :) I bet you felt like that once too :). All the best adjusting to him moving out.

Great, edgy journal page. The colors, the composition, and the texture are fantastic.

Love your stuff as always! How are you doing after the move-out? Having any 'empty nest' symptoms?
