dimensional-transparent journal

well, it's monday. that's all i can say-  wasn't a very productive weekend for anything in the concept of ART (but it was a really good weekend otherwise *wink), i do have these images to show you of my recent instructional. Class_sample_001 this is a mini acetate journal. the concept behind this is to create dimension. go figure. laff-       it's a fun concept to work with. i kept this very simplistic. i battle with class samples because i tend to want to overkill on my collaging and layering, and it hides the 'concept' behind the project, completely throwing my girls off sometimes. i wanted to show that you can create a dimensional-transparent journal.    when closed and looking from the outside in, you can see the inside content in most of its entirety, but when you open it up, it's like you're peeling away the layers. make sense -? Class_sample_006 the springboard for this journal came from one that ali edwards created. when i saw the acetate journal of her son, the possibilities with this concept overwhelmed me in a big way- the class was awesome, and the end result of the girls' journals were fab to say the least. they really hit on the concept.  they just about jump at any instructional that i do because they love to bust out the spray paint! Class_sample_005 *the spine is made from 3 diff pattern paper designs and folded accordian style. the acetate pages were cut to size, then the spine and pages were put together, holes punched and bound with waxed string. the top is the 'starburst' concept that i talked about in my last journal post; the triangles were folded back and attached to the acetate with mini brads. the back page is secured with a piece of chipboard, and the edges of the acetate pages have excess pattern paper for a little more structure, and i added tabs. this really is a simplistic WOW with many possibilities.

have a good week! it's going to be a long week, but good weekend planned
