mini journal i made from a boardbook-
i did a lot of different things on these pages, but nothing i haven't already done. just a lot of beeswax and acrylics! this was my first boardbook project, so it was a little 'trying' covering the pages with the acrylics and it not lifting- i usually work on raw surfaces, and didn't prep the pages. lesson learned.
WE CALL LIFE! sheesh.. main event of the week, number one son moves out
SURREAL
not easy folks! he's going to be 21 in august, but what the heck. reality bites. reality is good too. he's doing well, and had mixed emotions about leaving, but was excited about it too. as parents, we think we're prepared, and actually relieved when our kids start 'thinking' about moving out, but how do you actually accept it ? i finally went into his room for the first time yesterday- lost my breath, turned and closed the door! i think i made the comment to him not too long ago "if you don't like it, step out into the real world and see what it's all about".. yep, now i'm wishing i could turn back time. just about 5 years, that's all ;-)

the photos flip.
it's made from a large slide holder. i added another single slide holder to the top of the front. very cool IRL. it's realistically a mini book. i used the boys' skiing pixs, and added some of eth and his first pair of skis he got from his nana and pa on his 7th birthday. the smaller image is eth up on skis, and rich in the water from helping eth get his balance and up. just fit the theme of the card nicely, BIRTHDAY/WATER SKIING. the last image is the back, and above the rub-on numbers, i attached a burnt match with clear packing tape.
